Amy Olson, DVM
Dr. Amy is a native of Wisconsin. She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud Minnesota in 2000 and went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2004. She and her husband, whom she met in vet school, moved out east after graduation seeking a coastal climate to begin their careers. Dr. Amy has worked in this area since graduation and opened Lakewood Animal Hospital in October of 2011. She enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients and their owners. She treats cats and dogs of all ages and has a special interest in dentistry, feline medicine, and pain management. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
The Olsons have two small children, a cat named Monkey, and a family of fish. In her free time Dr. Olson loves to spend time with her family enjoying the beautiful Virginia outdoors.
Andrew Olson, DVM
Dr. Andy joined Lakewood in the summer of 2013. After earning a bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Andy attended the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Andy's professional interests include internal medicine, dentistry, oral surgery, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasound. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Andy is married to Dr. Amy, who listed all of their beloved critters above. While he enjoys working with all dogs and cats, he has a special place in his heart for boxers. While not in the office, Dr. Andy enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, running, and hiking.
Alex Sanchez, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Alex joined the Lakewood team in April 2017. She graduated from the LVT program at Northern Virginia Community College in May 2012, but has been working in the veterinary field since 2007. She has always had a passion for working with animals and is happy to continue that work with our clients and patients.
Alex lives in Fredericksburg with her three fur babies: her dog, Keira, and her two cats, Tiger and Sumi. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family and friends, especially in the outdoors; hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and being on the water.
Kate Alt, Veterinary Assistant/Office Assistant
Kate joined Lakewood Animal Hospital in July 2013. She has a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management but has a passion for companion animals. She enjoys learning different aspects of animal care and behavior. Kate also loves getting to know all the patients here, as well as their pet parents!
Kate lives in Fredericksburg with her husband and three fur kids: two goofball mutts, Lucy and Desi, and a very friendly cat, Mrs. Whiskersin. She enjoys traveling, camping, baking, and anything dog related (of course).
Katie Beall, Veterinary Assistant
Katie joined our staff in September 2015 and is very passionate about her position here at Lakewood Animal Hospital! She loves helping patients and clients and is excited to learn new things every day.
When she's not busy assisting the doctors and taking care of our furry patients, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and visiting the beach. Katie lives locally with her husband and her precious dog Natalie.
Callie Stocking, Veterinary Assistant
Callie joined the Lakewood team in December 2015. She has always had a passion for animals and wants nothing more than to ensure that they have the highest quality of love and care. Callie is thrilled to be working with dog/cats, their owners, the doctors, and the staff.
When Callie isn't caring for the animals and ensuring our clients have a positive experience, she enjoys visiting historical sites, antique shopping, spending time with her animals, and visiting Lake Anna. She resides in Spotsylvania with her husband, Golden Retriever, Westie, Juliana pig, and chickens.
Ashley Grasso, Veterinary Assistant
Ashley joined our staff in July 2017. She is currently working on her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from VCU. Ashley would love to be able to help animals from a legal standpoint some day. She has 4 years of experience in the pet grooming field and 1 year experience at veterinary hospitals.
Ashley lives in Fredericksburg with her two golden retriever fur babies Riley and Bailey. In her free time she enjoys photography, refinishing furniture, and boating.
Allison Wassum, Receptionist
Alli joined the Lakewood team in August 2014 as a friendly-faced receptionist. She has many years of experience in office administration and customer service, and she loves to make all of our clients and their pets feel welcome.
When she's not answering phones, typing ferociously, or assisting clients, Alli enjoys playing violin, hiking, and spending time with her friends and loved ones. She resides locally with her family including her goofy pup Roz.
Sarah Kummings, Receptionist
Sarah joined our staff in August 2016. She has almost completed her Associate of Science degree; she will be continuing her education at George Mason University in their Forensic Science program working towards her Bachelor's degree. Sarah is enjoying learning the scientific aspect of the veterinary field, but also enjoys meeting our furry patients.
Sarah lives in Massaponax with her husband, step-daughter, her firstborn, a Husky-Akita mix named Leonidas, and her youngest, a Boxer-Pitbull mix named Dexter. She spends most of her free time doing homework, but enjoys cooking Latin cuisine, watching Family Feud, and snuggling her two pups.

Lorrain Kelley, Receptionist
Lorrain joined the Lakewood team in June 2017. She has several years in the administration and customer service field. Lorrain has almost completed her Associate's degree and is undecided as to where she will be pursuing her Bachelor's degree.
Lorrain resides in Stafford with Paris, a Pitbull/Lab mix (a foster puppy turned family member), and Skips, Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. Lorrain also has a 13 year old Blood Parrot Cichlid (a fish). In her spare time, Lorrain likes to garden, cook, listen to music, and socialize with friends and family.
